Peace Lutheran Youth Ministry Minimize

Nearly a year after commissioning the Davises to Kenya, Peace welcomed two new youth directors. Ieisha McIntyre and Keri Anderson stepped into youth ministry at Peace in August 2007. Expect some of the youth group traditions to continue: the Hunger Walk, the Corn Maze, a fall work day, and Black Nativity. Sunday School will still be a time to connect together and share our highs and lows after a busy week. But our youth can also expect to be a part of making the decisions about what we study, what we do, and how we learn about following Christ together.

Ieisha has returned to Peace after having been baptized and spending many of her early years at Peace. She is a graduate of PLU, class of ’97. She has worked with youth in various roles as a teacher, coach, advisor, and mentor throughout her personal and professional life. She looks forward to teaching, learning, and growing in God with the young people of Peace.

Keri has been around Peace for eight years this September, joining shortly after graduating PLU in 1999. Joseph and Keri were married at Peace in 2000 and have both taught Sunday school off and on throughout the years while raising their two boys, Josiah and Martin. Keri started spending time with the youth while expecting Martin. As Jen and Davis left, she felt a pull to help teach Sunday school for the youth of our church. That pull slowly developed into a commitment to listen to, lead, and love the young people God has (and will) lead to Peace.

God has given us all the gift and responsibility of walking with our young people. We always welcome volunteers to participate in youth group activities.
