The Apostle Paul writes,
“Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.”
God’s vision for Peace is to be a community that is compassionate. Compassion means being nonjudgmental and inclusive of all people and reaching out in care to help those who are vulnerable, struggling, or suffering. Compassion includes ministries to those within the worshiping community (inreach).
A ministry that involves care to the congregation, their friends, and family by providing support in times of trouble, sadness, healing, and joy. As part of this ministry, cards (hand made by the Peace family) are sent to provide prayers, encouragement, and thanks. We also try to help individuals with their basic needs, such as getting them to appointments, running errands, and finding resources to help resolve issues. We make hospital and home visits every week (especially to those who are shut-ins). You can request a visit or response from the Care Ministry by contacting Jeanie Correa, Care Ministry Coordinator, at email@example.com. The following are more specific ministries within Care Ministry at Peace.
A ministry of writing and sending cards to people in the community at birthdays, illnesses, anniversaries of weddings and deaths.
Care Ministers are trained ministers of the church who visit people in the hospital or at home during illnesses, surgeries, or in special circumstances, extending God’s love, a listening ear, the Word of scripture, and prayer.
Centering Prayer Time
Once a month, the last Friday of the month 5:30-7 pm, we gather for a quiet worship service in God’s presence.
A group of training Communion Ministers brings the gifts of Holy Communion once a month to those members of the Peace community who are unable to come to worship on Sunday mornings. Communion Ministers are blessed and sent monthly in worship at Peace.
Helping Hands Ministry
Provides home maintenance and yard work and other tasks for families of the church and community. This ministry is not yet organized.
Meal Train Ministry
A ministry that provides meals (home-cooked or store bought) for families after a surgery, birth, or other challenging time. A tangible way to share God’s love and Peace’s love for people in our community.
A group of people committed to regularly praying the needs and thanksgivings of the community.
Prayer Ministry on Sundays
A prayer team prays for individuals during worship to offer encouragement, strength, and support from God.
